Copa set to make summer swing

ANEW high-value version of SEAT''s popular supermini, the Ibiza, is the focal point of the Spanish car maker''s special offers for the summer.

The debut of the Ibiza S Copa in all three body styles - SC, 5dr and ST - sees the likes of 15in Ingenia alloy wheels, cruise control, front fog lights with cornering function, electrically-adjustable door mirrors and bodycoloured door handles and mirrors added to the entry-level Ibiza S model''s trim.

A 1.2-litre 70PS petrol engine powers the Ibiza Copa in SC or five-door form while all three body styles are available with SEAT''s 1.2-litre TDI turbodiesel.

The latter generates just 92g/km of CO and combined economy figure of more than 80mpg.

Prices start at pounds 9,995 for the Ibiza SC S Copa or, subject to terms and conditions, a 42-month Personal Contract Hire deal of pounds 199 per month with a deposit of pounds 199.

Moving up the range the Ibiza SE Copa adds 16in alloys, electric folding door mirrors, leather steering wheel and gearknob, tinted rear windows, rain and light sensors for automatic wipers and lights, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and climate control.

And a more potent 1.4-litre 85PS four-cylinder petrol engine is available, as well as the same 1.2-litre TDI that appears in the S Copa.

Prices are from pounds 10,495 for the Ibiza SC 1.4 SE Copa - a premium of pounds 500 over the S Copa but with pounds 1,120 of extra kit. PCH terms remain the same as the S Copa.

Moving up the size range SEAT''s family five-door Leon 1.2 TSI S Copa is available for pounds 13,995, a saving of pounds 2,185 over the retail price.

In SE grade it features the SEAT Media System with touch screen sat-nav and 3D mapping, dynamic route guidance, SD card slot for MP3 playback, DAB radio tuner and Bluetooth for pounds 14,695 - a saving of pounds 2,245.

Elsewhere, there are money-off deals on the practical Altea and Altea XL family range, as well as discounts of up to pounds 2,000 on versions of the upmarket Exeo saloon and Exeo ST estate.
