The screening, featuring Q&A with key cast and crew, provides film fans with the first opportunity to see the new feature, which will tour other UK cities this autumn.Co-director Philip Shotton, explains the innovative filming techniques that set the mood for this unsettling new film: "The whole film was workshopped with the young cast, using improvisational acting techniques to create believable characters and naturalistic performances.Rising Tide's cast and crew all hail from the North East, making Newcastle a natural choice for the premiere. Internationally-renowned Northumbrian musician Kathryn Tickell and several North East bands add a foreboding, atmospheric soundtrack to the film as the storm clouds gather over the Northumberland coast.Rising Tide was funded and produced by Northern Film and Media - the Newcastle-based creative industry development agency."Despite the hardships it was a fantastic experience for cast and crew alike - we all enjoyed it so much we've already filmed the sequel!" Joe MacCabe, who plays Joe in Rising Tide, adds: "The production process was exciting for me as the film was devised through workshops and various scenes were created on set through improvisation.
